Want to create training-related income streams from your expertise and book? As an expert and business-building author, you’re likely a natural for developing these. They enable you to share what you know with a broader audience than your book might ever reach. And in forms and formats many people may prefer to reading as a book.
Best of all, you don’t have to be adept — or professionally educated — as a trainer because there are so many new platforms, templates and tools that make you shine as you teach. Take a look at what’s possible:
• Convert your book’s content into a workbook loaded with info that trains along the way.
• Create a training manual.
• Develop a podcast, Zoom, multi-week email, online video or YouTube course/training/masterclass you sell access to and/or advertising for. Make it live or self-paced (or both by making the live version available on demand later), interactive or presentation or both.
• Train beginners about the basics in your field live, via audio, Zoom, email or video.
• Teach in-house corporate, association or government agency staff the basics that apply to their organization, updated information about something changing fast or emerging trends.
• Produce industry-specific recurring trainings to update expertise and credentials and perhaps prepare for changes ahead.
• Coach a train-the-trainer program, helping attendees develop a plan for their training activity (if an employee) or business.
• Instruct about your approach, and charge to certify trainees to be skilled at using it with their organizations or clients. Turn this into recurring income by requiring certified professionals to pay an annual fee to retain their certification and to stay current by buying updated content every few years.
• Start a high-ticket mastermind group for advanced practitioners in your field, where their networking is as valuable as the training topics they suggest you cover.
• Market an advanced training and coaching program to help experienced practitioners in your field create their individual plans for thorny new developments and disruptive trends likely in the coming years.
• Introduce a membership marketplace where people trained by you can sell their services, meet vendors and service providers, buy training to increase their expertise and network.

The beauty of these is all can be done virtually via audio and/or video to expand your reach to coast-to-coast or international markets with a minimum of expense. And most provide you with a digital asset you can resell and/or repurpose for as long as your content remains current. What could possibly be better than that?
